How to Embed Audio & Video Content From Other Websites in WordPress

In this tutorial you will learn how to add audio and video content from other websites to your own WordPress website.

For this tutorial I will use the Podcast Plus WordPress theme.

If you host your audio or video content on platforms like Spotify, SoundCloud, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Youtube, SimpleCast, Libsyn and so on, you can easily add their players to your own WordPress website. Let’s begin.

First, let’s create a new post for our latest podcast episode and then add the player from Spotify.

Find the correct episode, click on the 3 dots in the top-right corner, then go to Share and Copy Embed Code.

Now back to our post. Add a new block. You need the custom HTML block. Now paste the embed code and you’re done.

If you want the player to appear on archive pages too, you can paste the embed code in the Excerpt box.

Find the Excerpt panel on the right side of the screen and add the embed code. By default the embed code will replace the automatic excerpts generated by WordPress. So if you want to have some text before or after the player, you will have to manually add the text.

Now I will repeat the same process for Apple Podcasts, SimpleCast and SoundCloud. This should work just as well with any other platform that allows sharing through embed codes.
